Darong Off-Shoulder Slim-Fit Long-Sleeve Top on the long-sleeve tops shelf

What this shelf is for

The test for a long-sleeve rib is the cuff. Pull it over your hand, push it back up your arm, and see whether it stays where you left it. A rib with spandex through it does. A cotton jersey with a rib collar stretched on the first day does not.

Thirteen cuts here, in mock neck, boat neck, crew and off-shoulder. They are the layer that lives under a cardigan in November and on its own in April, and for that they are cut close rather than loose.

the Darong catalogue runs one shape here: long-sleeve top.

Darong long-sleeve tops: asked and answered

Will your Darong cuffs stay where you push them?

Pull a cuff over your hand, push it back up your arm, and a rib with spandex through it returns to its own width. That is the test we cut for, and it is why the sleeves here are ribbed rather than jersey with a ribbed trim.

Will a Darong mock neck keep you warm on its own?

In a mild autumn, yes: the rib is dense and sits close, which traps more than a loose knit of the same weight. In January they are a layer, and the cardigans on the sweater shelf are cut roomier on purpose to take one.

How do you stop a fitted knit showing every seam underneath?

Take a double-lined cut, or size up one and let the knit skim rather than cling. A rib pulled tight shows everything under it. The same rib one size larger shows the shape and not the seam.
